It's Monday, and that means it's time for another epic episode of Monday Madness, in which Tim and Scott bring you Oscar-worthy* weekly updates on Lent Madness action.
As the name would indicate, the Supreme Executive Committee is extremely humble. In today's episode, which they filmed on their knees, they leave their comfort zone to share some big news about the record-breaking 2019 Opening Day numbers, including most page views ever (39,000) and most votes ever (nearly 11,000). They also celebrate the Lent Madness Twitter account crossing the 5,000 follower threshold. Speaking of which, are you following @LentMadness on Twitter? You should be.
For an unprecedented two weeks running, they don't mention the Lentorium, but don't let that stop you from making a visit.
It's not too late to evangelize your friends for the Lent Madness cause! We're still early in the Round of 32, so there's plenty of voting and high-stakes competition coming up. Tell your friends to visit the site and sign up for daily emails. You know the website's address, right? It's W W W DOT LENTMADNESS DOT O R G. The more the merrier! Except for voting: remember, it's one person, one vote in Lent Madness -- lest you risk being cast into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of purple teeth.
* Shockingly, Monday Madness has never even been nominated for an Oscar. Any Lent Madness fans have an in with The Academy? This is getting embarrassing.

I must be technically challenged. I cannot figure out how to vote.

But first click on the "read more" link in the email to get the profiles and then you can vote.
There's are little circles to the left of the names. You select one by touching it or using a mouse, and then hit the large button below the names. Your vote will be counted and you will see the results so far. You must be registered to vote. I assume if you get the daily emails, you did that.
I have received all the preliminary emails re: Lent Madness. However, I did not receive the info for the first two days of competition. However, I received the automatic info for voting on Sat. I checked email this morning and had not received the info re: the saints who participated in today's contest. A few minutes ago, I received an email from you re: today's contest and saints who are competing. Can you make sure I receive the competing saints early each morning rather than like today at five o'clock in the evening.
I will complete the information again that you have requested. Thank you for your help. I enjoy Lent Madness each year.

I thought I was the only one who didn't get the first two days of Lent Madness. I got my first one on Saturday, and then got the previous two on Sunday. Now I seem to be getting everything. What do we do if things don't go as they should in the future?

Responding to the Monday 11 March Madness video: If you're looking for a Tim Lounge, just come north to Canada. We have Tim lounges in almost every community. They even sell Tim Bits - which I hope are not Bits of any Tim - which do fine as Lenten Abstinence Doughnuts.
So glad to be back in the saddle with Lent Madness. Last year was so hectic I bowed out of the daily messages, fun things that they are, and sorry to have missed them.
Last time I wrote, we were attending a large Methodist church. Loved the people but the church was some distance. We are back home in more ways that one: back to a Presbyterian (PCUSA) church. Participated in the General Assembly and loved meeting people and strolling through the exhibits! Ghost Ranch anyone??
Father Tim, I still want to know what some of the books are on your shelves. My reading at the moment consists of "Christian Doctrine" by Shirley Guthrie. Well, that and the Presbyterian Creeds and Confessions. Hugs to you both. Hope your wives know what great fellows you are!!

Actually, I don't think the good saint is as concerned with which syllable we emphasize as he is that we pronounce the 1st vowel long instead of short. This is NOT, mind you, out of vain identification with the title of his Lord and Savior, Christ, but simple common practice. And to avoid the mocking of his friend Pythagorus who has begun teasing him as "prissy Chryssy."
In which case, however, it WOULD become important that we not put the emphasis on the final syllable so that it would not be misheard as Crisis Tom, short for Crisis Thomas ("OK, let's all go to Jerusalem and die!") who is a different saint altogether.
I watched the Monday video. I have really excellent color vision (having made no errors on the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 hue color vision test), yet I cannot read the purple script on your black background at the end of the video because the purple script is too dark. The text needs to be brighter (or a more contrasting color) so that the intensity of the purple stands out against the black background. If we are meant to read it, then some color adjustments need to be made.
As to how to accent Chrysostom, why does any syllable need to be accented. It sounds fine when the 3 syllables are equally emphasized.
