Stop whatever you are doing and grab some popcorn. You won't want to miss this week's episode of Monday Madness with BREAKING NEWS from the Supreme Executive Committee. Tim and Scott briefly talk about the somewhat rocky opening of Lent Madness XVI, during which some people have had problems voting. (These security measures have been necessary due to cheaters!) But the SEC is trying new settings now, so we'll hope today's vote goes well.
But we've buried the lede. The big news is that the SEC is diving behind the purple curtain to make way for two new public faces of Lent Madness. We won't spoil it here. You have to watch the video to see which two talented priests emerged triumphant after a global search in Lent's Got Talent.
Seriously, when Tim created Lent Madness 16 years ago, he had no idea it would have such a great run, and change the face of Lent in the Episcopal Church and beyond. And he's convinced there's room to grow and inspire even more faithful Christians to learn, have fun, and deepen their faith. But that means new people with new ideas and new energy. Tim and Scott will continue to serve as the Supreme Executive Committee, working behind the scenes to ensure an excellent saintly competition. You'll see new faces bringing big new ideas for Lent Madness, all while keeping the beloved traditions and the vibe we've all come to know and love. Enjoy!

Love the new faces. Looking forward to their leadership. Just hoping I don't forget how many dots in the website address.
Oh! say it isn't so! You two will be sorely missed notwithstanding the "new faces bringing new ideas for Lent madness." You two are very very funny in a rather dour world.
I cannot access this via YouTube. Have to subscribe, and can't do it. A shame, but that's how it is
No witty female priests available for this endeavor? Need to recruit at least one.
Four white guys babbling about themselves. Deja Vu.
I thought Stuart, FL was spelled STUART --?
And here's another hiss for the all-white-male cast --during Women's History Month, no less! Are you abandoning DEI? Hiss Boo!
This is my first year watching the videos. Your sports-channel repartee reminded me of ESPN, which led me to ESPN: Episcopal Saints Popularity Network. Looking forward to the awarding of the Golden Halo!
Ok you all are awesome but you need a priest of the female persuasion. Just sayin! Also I volunteer to make a “Lenti.”
I tried to vote for Hugh of Lincoln, but my vote would not be accepted.
I can't believe this is my first year of Lent Madness so now I won't even know what I missed. However....Fr. Christian Anderson - YAY! Hello from St. Matthew's in Sterling, VA!
I confess my first thought upon reading these comments about the new guys was a picture of a frustrated Black female priest being hauled into the mix protesting "I am way too busy for silly games!". I blame the Holy Spirit, known for a wild sense of humor. Forgive me.
With respect for social justice, and love for Lent Madness: the Episcopal Church is overwhelmingly white. Sports competitions are overwhelmingly male. It's not Michelle Obama who publishes her basketball predictions this time of year, it's her spouse Barack. Not everything is about demographic injustice or the daily political horrors in the United States. Women run the world and are busy. Men we love take care of the rest.
I look forward to fresh voices and thank our founders for their hard work and wisdom.
I have not received today's contestants in my inbox. When are you going to send them out. It's 7 pm
I have not been able to push the button for my vote I understand there has been issues with this. I hope I can vote next time
Welcome Christian and Michael!
I hope you enjoy your new leadership roles in Lent Madness. As you will find, it is an enjoyable, but not always comfortable place, especially when voting rights are curtailed.
So, now that you're introduced: for your first miracle, would you please re-enable nested replies?
If you succeed, I promise that I'll dedicate a limerick to you (and Seth, of course). If you don't succeed, perhaps I'll dedicate a limerick to you anyway…
Thank you, and good luck.
Thank you Scott and Tim for bringing us the joy of Lent Madness for so many seasons. Thank you for continuing your role as the SEC. Welcome to Christian and Michael. From a bit of internet research, I can see how promising they both are to help our platform grow through video offerings. Grateful for thr faith and fun. Happy Lent!
It is Stuart, Florida, not Stewart
This is amazing. 4 great guys & this sounds like so much work, thank you all. I look forward to the fresh ideas. I am greatful for all the work & time you put into this wonderfully, prayer & church history ministry. Amen!!
My goodness ❤️❤️❤️
To Tim & Scott,
I loved your funny but gracious introduction to the new faces of Lent Madness.
The reverends Christian and Michael both sound enthusiastic and ready to carry the torch forward. I so appreciate these years of both study and playfulness learning who our spiritual ancestors are and what their christian legacy for us. Even more wonderful that some of those we learn about are our own
contemporaries!
My gratitude to both of you, Reverends Tim and Scott for making our Lententide so Lenti !
Blessings~ Lynn Torney
We are in LA frequently - what Parish does Fr. Sachdev serve in?
I (lol) love change! But where oh where did the Rev. Christian Anderson get that jacket?? From a down on his luck magician??
That's Stuart, FL, not Stewart, FL!
St. Mary's Episcopal Church, STUART, FL.
I think you 4 will make Lent Madness even more fun and interesting. You teach us and entertain us throughout Lent. Thanks
Welcome to the new guys. They mentioned posh vs. humble. What I saw was classic male competition. Who is tallest, who has the best suit, who has the biggest “endowment?” We know what that means. There’s a little too much testosterone in the room for me but I’ll keep watching and hope they return to what this is all about, learning, loving and building community for all.
In this day when recognition of women (who are after all the majority of the population) and POC is so important although discouraged, I do think one of the presenters could have been female and/or a person of color. Where would the church be without both of these categories? And many of the Saints reflect this!
Welcome to Christian and Michael. And I’ll miss seeing Scott and Tim. Hopefully they’ll make an appearance occasionally! Happy Lent.
I hope it works this time. I have really enjoyed Lent Madness in the past but I am definitely not a techie! When I was born in 1936 computers were unknown!
It would be wonderful to have a woman represented - especially if you did a global search.... hmmmmm
What's wrong with voting for the slave. Come on you guys.
